Editorial standards and historical reports

We translate astronomy and planetary-defense reporting for general readers and link to supporting sources wherever practical. Posts may describe the estimate available on their stated publication date. Those historical estimates can differ from the current scientific assessment as researchers collect better observations.

We aim for accuracy, clear attribution, and original writing, but science develops and errors can occur. Source agencies and current official alerts control over any summary on this site. Material corrections may be made without notice.

Content is provided for general information, education, and commentary. It is not an official warning service and is not scientific, emergency, safety, legal, financial, or other professional advice. This site does not offer user accounts, comments, contact forms, or email subscriptions, and it does not intentionally use advertising or analytics trackers. The site itself does not ask visitors to submit personal information.

Donations and PayPal

The support link is voluntary and opens PayPal, which processes the transaction under its own terms and privacy statement. Asteroid YR4 does not collect or store payment-card or bank-account details on this website. PayPal may provide the donation recipient with transaction and donor information as part of its service.
